With the advent of powerful computers and sophisticated graphics workstations, many of the most fundamental problems at the interface of chemistry, biology, and physics can be more effectively pursued. The Allinger's Molecuar Mechanics Research Lab has been under the leadership of Professor Norman L. Allinger since 1970. Research in the lab focuses on understanding molecular structures and interactions, as well as developing new computational procedures (primarily in the area of molecular mechanics and molecular modeling methods).
